The Heart’s Path
My mind once sought to hold the reins,
To name the stars, to map the plains.
Yet in the quiet, the heart would sing,
Of truths the mind could never bring.
Childhood dreams were painted bright,
By words that danced in dawn’s first light.
A story whispered deep inside,
Where love and wonder still reside.
The hands of time, both kind and stern,
Have taught my soul what it must learn:
That thought, though sharp, must bow its head,
To where the heart has always led.
My wife’s soft gaze, her tender care,
Unveils the grace that lingers there.
In her embrace, my soul finds rest,
A love that weaves the life that’s best.
And then my daughter, her searching eyes,
Reflect the questions that make us wise.
Through storms she’s sailed, through dark and fear,
Her courage whispers loud and clear.
The brain observes, the heart creates,
A union shaped by love and faith.
Each prayer, each breath, each fleeting thought,
A gift the heart and mind have wrought.
No longer do I strive to know,
What only time and love can show.
For in the heart’s unspoken grace,
I find my truest dwelling place.
